Algarve is conveniently located province in the South of Portugal, It attracts millions of tourists with its picturesque beaches. From the main territory of Portugal, the Algarve is separated by low mountains, which make its landscapes even more vivid and unusual.
The centre of Algarve is the charming Faro town, surrounded by an equally charming harbour in a wide lagoon. The city became a tourist center relatively recently – in 1965, it happened thanks to the appearance of the international airport.
The modern and trendy resorts in Algarve were once fishing villages. The centers of many cities still retain their provincial beauty – whitewashed houses, narrow streets, ancient churches.
Algarve is also famous for its lush vegetation, which during flowering creates a snow-white blanket. There are numerous almond trees in bloom, as well as pomegranate, orange and Fig trees. Algarve is known as the garden of Portugal.
